About The Supervisor Meeting Page
The Supervisor Meetings page functions as a designated area for recording essential discussions, feedback, and action items from meetings with the project supervisor. These sessions are essential for refining the research direction, tackling technical challenges, and ensuring compliance with academic and ethical standards.
Each meeting offers critical insights into project milestones, required modifications, and strategic planning for subsequent development phases. Regular updates will be provided here, detailing progress, modifications, and supervisor recommendations that influence the project's final implementation.
Supervisor Meeting 1 (Week 1 - Week 4) – Project Foundation & Ethical Compliance
The initial supervisory meeting concentrated on laying the project's groundwork, clarifying objectives, and aligning research methodologies with ethical standards. Discussions encompassed Weeks 1 to 4, including the submission of the initial proposal, the refinement of the research scope, and the incorporation of feedback for enhancement.
The principal topics of discussion encompassed:
First Cut Proposal Form: Evaluated and enhanced in accordance with supervisor feedback, ensuring precision in research objectives and methodology.
Ethical Considerations: The supervisor evaluated the Research Ethics Screening Document and the Application for Ethical Approval to ensure adherence to institutional and data protection regulations.
Survey Design and Participant Documentation: Evaluation of the Survey Design Document, Participant Information Sheet (PIS), and Informed Consent Form, guaranteeing participant rights, data security, and transparency.
The supervisor offered conclusive guidance, confirming that all requisite documents were prepared prior to submission, which included reviewing and endorsing necessary approvals.
This meeting established a robust foundation for the project, confirming that all ethical and methodological elements were verified prior to advancing to data collection and implementation.
Supervisor Meeting 2 – Weeks 6 to 11 (Project Checkup before Demo)
This week, I conducted the second supervisory meeting to update on the current status of the Car Connect UAE project and to solicit insights in preparation for the final submission and presentation week.
Summary of the Meeting:
**Project Status Update**: Notified the supervisor regarding the development accomplished from Weeks 6 to 11, encompassing the establishment of the core Car Connect UAE platform utilising WeWeb (frontend), Supabase (backend), and Octoparse (scraping engine). The MVP features—user authentication, dynamic filters, listing display, and advertisement detail views—were completely implemented and operational.
**Preparation for Presentation and Demonstration**: Solicited feedback and guidance from the supervisor regarding the structure of the forthcoming presentation and the sequence of the demonstration. Identified key sections to highlight, including the problem statement, system design, and demonstration of actual data utilisation.
**Final Report Review**: Presented the nearly finalised technical report and solicited feedback regarding its overall structure, depth of critical reflection, and adherence to the assessment criteria.
- **Notes on Video Submission**:
Clarified whether the demo video should adhere closely to the presentation or function as a walkthrough of the website's principal features. The supervisor affirmed the necessity of brevity and a focus on key features.

This meeting was crucial for finalising the direction for Week 12 and ensuring that the submission package (report, demo video, and presentation) aligns with the expectations.
